English Version
The Landesmusikrat Schleswig-Holstein e.V. is the umbrella organization for musical life in the state. Its members include the musical associations, societies and institutions of Schleswig-Holstein.
The aim of the Landesmusikrat is to foster musical life in Schleswig-Holstein. To achieve this, it is active in three fields of work: it gives music a political voice, it advises music institutions, the state and the municipalities of Schleswig-Holstein, and it carries out projects of state-wide significance.
In its project work, the Landesmusikrat is particularly dedicated to promoting young musicians, e.g. through the competition "Jugend musiziert", and to networking the music scene, e.g. through the project "Instrument of the Year". It also sponsors the four state youth ensembles LandesJugendChor, LandesJugendJazzOrchester, LandesJugendEnsemble für Neue Musik and LandesJugendOrchester.
In the newly formed association of the Competence Center for Musical Education in Schleswig-Holstein (KMB.SH), the Landesmusikrat assumes the coordination. It shapes the musical future of Schleswig-Holstein in a strong community with its four partners (the University of Music Lübeck, the Association of Music Schools, the Nordkolleg Rendsburg and the Institute for Quality Development at Schools in Schleswig-Holstein).
The Landesmusikrat works closely with other music councils and the German Music Council (Deutscher Musikrat).
